A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, from the Brassin line. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for finishing a larger kit: a precisely cast landing gear bay for the Italian Macchi C.202 Folgore fighter in 1:48 scale. The set contains resin parts and, in this case, fine photo-etched parts too. Always check the fit against your own base model.
The inside of the landing gear bays tends to be simplified in plastic kits. A resin bay brings the faithful structure of ribs, piping and rivets that is hard to achieve out of the box. Once it is glued in and painted it markedly raises the realism of the view of the underside of the wing on models of the Macchi C.202 Folgore.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and clean up the edges. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and the photo-etched parts are bent over a metal ruler. Protect your airways when sanding resin. The best results come from an airbrush and from picking the detail out gently with a wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
