Eduard 1:48 McDonnell F-4B Phantom NAVY is a decal set with the markings of US Navy aircraft for a model in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a kit nor a set of parts but a standalone set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale. The focus is given by the name: the markings of US Navy aircraft. The set makes sense above all for anyone who wants to build a particular aircraft other than those the base kit offers, or who wants the colors and shapes of the insignia at the level of a specialist producer.
The McDonnell F-4B Phantom II is the early carrier-borne version of the two-seat twin-engine fighter that the US Navy introduced at the start of the 1960s. Its typical features are the upturned outer wing panels, the anhedral horizontal stabilizers and the robust carrier landing gear. On carrier aircraft in particular the markings tend to be bold and varied, so a decal set changes the final impression of the model far more than on aircraft in low-visibility finishes.
Always apply decals to a gloss surface, as a silvery haze forms under the film on matte paint. Cut the sheet close around the motif. Dip the decal in lukewarm water only briefly and let it soften on the paper rather than in the water. Put a drop of water under the decal so that the position can be adjusted, and soak up the excess with a paper towel. On engraved lines and rivets a decal softener helps, as it draws the decal down into the relief. Once dry, go over the whole model with a protective clear coat to the sheen you want, so that the edges of the film disappear.
The decals are supplied on their own, without a kit and without paints. Please check the exact contents of the sheet before buying.
