RLM 79 Sandgelb was the basic upper color of German aircraft used in tropical and desert settings. It was applied in North Africa and the Mediterranean, where it covered the upper surfaces of fighters and bombers, for instance tropicalized Bf 109 F and G machines or the Ju 88 and the Ju 87. The version marked with the year 1941 captures the period mix of this desert tone.
For modelers building German aircraft of tropical and Mediterranean service.
