The set 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-4 SPACE from Eduard adds colored three-dimensionally shaped elements to the cockpit of an early Gustav. It serves as an accessory to a kit and does not replace it.
Responsibility details are not available.
You are buying a detail set for the cockpit, not a plastic kit. The elements are colored and three-dimensionally shaped, so once they are lined up the interior looks deeper than anything a brush can achieve on a smooth casting. The work takes a few tens of minutes and the difference is obvious at first glance into the cockpit.
The Bf 109G-4 was among the first production Gustavs with the DB 605 engine. It differed from the G-2 mainly in the larger main landing gear wheels, which called for bulges on the upper surface of the wing, and in changes to the radio equipment. It was used on the Eastern Front, in the Mediterranean and over Tunisia, and pilots of Germany's allies flew it too.
The cockpit of a Messerschmitt is narrow and full of protrusions, so lay the elements down one at a time and try each one dry beforehand. Shorten any excess material rather than bending it over an edge. Before you close the fuselage up, check that the halves still meet without pressure.
The instrument panel and the side walls come out best; the most common snag, by contrast, is a poorly leveled base on which a part holds only by its edge. Before you start, go over the area with fine abrasive paper and blow the dust remains away.
