An accessory set for the engine section of an MH-60K helicopter kit in 1:48 scale. The parts are glued with super glue; their placement is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MH-60K is a special version of the American Black Hawk helicopter, reworked for use by special operations units. It differs from the ordinary machines in the added equipment for flight at night and in poor visibility. In modeling practice the engine section is one of those places that are clearly visible on the finished machine as soon as the panels are opened.
The set is aimed at the powerplant section of the helicopter in 1:48 scale and serves to model the space that an injection-molded kit usually handles only in simplified form. The number of parts, their numbers and the recommended extent of the work on the kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with it.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are joined with super glue or epoxy. Cut the excess material and the production marks away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand off the rest. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry. The engine bay looks better when the shadows are brought out with a dark wash after the base coat and the edges are lightly picked out with drybrushing.
The set suits modelers who want to build the helicopter with the engine section exposed or to show the machine under maintenance. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
