A helicopter has far more places that can be seen into than an aircraft: the glazed gunner's cockpit, the engine covers, the intake grilles and the troop compartment. A combined box therefore covers work in several places at once on this type, and it brings all of those sets together in one package.
The Mi-24 came about as a combination of an attack machine and a transport, which had no parallel at the time. The crew sits in tandem under armored glazing, behind them space was left for several soldiers and the armament hangs under the stub wings. The P form is recognized by the fixed twin-barreled 30 mm cannon that replaced the movable turret under the nose and brought markedly heavier firepower.
The extensive glazing means that the interior cannot be hidden, so the work inside pays off before the cockpit is closed. Fit the grilles and the small covers only after painting, when the model is handled less. Leave the rotor head to the very end; it is fragile and a blade is easily broken while the fuselage is being painted.
The set contains equipment for the build; the helicopter itself has to be bought separately.
