A photo-etched set in 1:48 scale for a model of the Soviet Mi-4 helicopter. It completes the kit with fine metal parts that cannot be produced in injection-molded plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-4 is a Soviet transport helicopter with a radial piston engine in the front of the fuselage, a four-blade main rotor and a smaller tail rotor on the tail boom. The cargo was loaded through rear doors set under the tail boom, and on the ground the machine stands on the four wheels of its fixed landing gear. It served in both civil and military use and was also built under license.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale intended to complete a Mi-4 model. Photo-etch is thin sheet in which the shapes are etched right through, so it offers a thickness and a crispness of edge that injection-molded plastic cannot reach. The extent of the set, the list of parts and the kit it is cut for are stated in the manufacturer's instructions, so check the match with your model beforehand.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Cut them out with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than tearing them, or they will bend. Level the remains of the tab with a fine file or a sanding stick. Make the bends over a sharp edge, ideally in a bender, or with a ruler and a blade. They are bonded with super glue applied in a minute amount on the tip of a wire; on larger areas a gel version helps, as it gives you time to align the part. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and use a base color, otherwise you will rub the finish off while handling it.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
