This plastic kit in 1:48 scale by AMMO by Mig Jimenez represents the Soviet MiG-17F jet fighter in a premium execution. The kit was created on a new injection mold and in the Premium edition it is richly equipped: it contains photo-etched parts, an elaborate interior with the afterburner, movable flaps, ailerons and airbrakes, drop tanks, masking stencils and resin 3D-printed parts including the ejection seat, a ladder and other accessories.
The MiG-17F is one of the iconic fighters of the Cold War. It grows out of the design of the MiG-15, with new wings, a lengthened fuselage and a more powerful engine with an afterburner, which is what characterizes the F version. Machines in Egyptian and Syrian service took part in the conflicts in the Middle East, and the color schemes enclosed correspond to that.
Wash the resin 3D-printed parts and separate them carefully from the carriers, then bond them with super glue. The masks supplied make it easier to paint the cockpit cleanly. Finish the interior and the afterburner before closing the fuselage. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and unify the surface afterwards. The rich contents put the set among projects for advanced modelers.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
