A kit of the subsonic MiG-17F fighter, that is the version with an afterburner, and of its Polish license-built LIM-5 form in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-17 is a single-seat subsonic fighter that came from developing the earlier MiG-15. It received a new wing with greater sweep and a lengthened fuselage, which improved its behavior at high speeds. The F version has a turbojet with an afterburner and a longer rear fuselage than the basic form. The LIM-5 designation belongs to the license-built form produced in Poland. Aircraft of this type reached many operators, among them Cuba and Angola.
The kit captures the characteristic shape of the aircraft: the circular air intake in the nose, the cockpit set high above the fuselage and the airbrakes on the sides of the rear fuselage. The basis for Polish, Cuban and Angolan finishes is prepared, so you can choose the markings to suit your own intention. Check the exact range of parts, the number of marking options and the extent of the instructions in the manufacturer's data sheet.
Finish and paint the cockpit, the nose gear bay and the intake duct before you close the fuselage; later you will no longer get to them. Mask the glazing before spraying, not after the paint has dried. Wash and degrease the whole model before painting, and the paint will hold considerably better. On smooth metal surfaces it pays to smooth the base carefully, because every flaw shows under a gloss finish.
Paints, glue and other building materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
