This resin detail set contains a correctly shaped ventral fin (the small vertical surface under the rear fuselage) of the MiG-17PF fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit that replaces an inaccurately rendered or missing part with a more faithful shape. It is not a standalone aircraft model.
The MiG-17 is a Soviet single-engine swept-wing jet fighter, NATO reporting name Fresco. The PF version was the interceptor variant fitted with an onboard radar. The small vertical surface under the rear fuselage, the ventral fin, improved directional stability; its shape tends to be rendered inaccurately in kits.
Wash the parts to remove mold release, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Separate the original plastic part carefully, set the new one on the centerline of the fuselage and paint the transitions to blend them in with their surroundings.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
