A set of accurate turned metal parts from the manufacturer MASTER in 1:48 scale for a model of the MiG-19PM (NATO reporting name Farmer E). The package contains the parts of four nose rails for launching missiles (4 pieces) and a pitot tube. It is not a model of the aircraft but a refining accessory replacing the plastic parts from the base kit.
The MiG-19PM was the missile-armed version of the first Soviet production supersonic fighter, the MiG-19. Unlike the cannon-armed versions it carried guided air-to-air missiles launched from nose rails. The long pitot on the nose and the armament rails are characteristic details of the airframe.
The metal parts separate cleanly from their carrier and are glued with cyanoacrylate into pre-drilled holes. Metal holds paint better once a base coat has been applied. Fitting fine parts belongs among the last steps of the build.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
