1:48 MiG-21 in Polish service exclusive edition COMBO SET

The Polish MiG-21s from 1963 to 2003

The Polish air force was the largest European operator of MiG-21s outside the Soviet Union. Over four decades more than five hundred machines passed through its inventory, from the early interceptor versions to the late bis, and every delivery wave brought a form of scheme and marking of its own. Anyone who picks a Polish MiG-21 has plenty to choose from.

What the combined package holds

The basis is five sheets devoted to the schemes of particular aircraft. With them go two sheets of national insignia and two sheets of technical lettering for the PFM, M, MF and bis versions. The proportion of sheets is chosen so that enough checkerboards and small captions are left for every machine built and the builder does not have to hunt for an accessory separately.

Working with the printing

The subjects lie on a continuous carrier film and are therefore cut out close to the edge of the colored area. Under a decal belongs a glossy ground, water at around thirty degrees and peace in which to settle it; a decal softener will help a large checkerboard hug the riveting on the wing. A matte clear coat at the end levels the gloss with the surrounding area.

Whom the edition suits

It gives most to anyone building Polish MiGs in series who wants several machines of one base together. It will serve modelers well who combine the scheme of one aircraft with markings from another period of its service. Because the technical lettering and the insignia are based on the versions, a machine whose scheme comes from another source can be got out of the package as well. The remaining sheets then stay in reserve for the next build, without anything having to be bought one piece at a time.
