A resin ejection seat with seat belts for the late versions of the MiG-21 (PFM/MF/BIS/SMT) in 1:48 scale from Quickboost — an accurate cockpit accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin ejection seat with cast seat belts for the late versions of the Soviet MiG-21 fighter (PFM, MF, BIS and SMT) in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. It is not an airplane model but an accurate replacement part for experienced modelers that takes the place of the simplified seat from the kit and markedly raises the fidelity of the cockpit. The casting captures the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shell that is hard to create in plastic.
The MiG-21 was one of the most widespread supersonic fighters in history and its later versions such as the PFM, MF, BIS and SMT served with dozens of countries including the former Czechoslovakia. Under a canopy slid back the seat is clearly visible, which is why it is worth concentrating on it. The part is intended as a refinement of an existing model of a late MiG-21 in the same scale, not as a kit on its own.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and sand the surface; protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) — ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Spray the seat with a base color, liven up the belts with a different shade and bring out the buckles with drybrushing; a fine wash will deepen the detail.
Supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
