A resin correction part for the vertical tail of a model of the MiG-23ML fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech company Aires. The set replaces the fin from the base kit with a casting that has a faithful outline and fine surface detail. It is not a standalone model but an accessory meant to be built into a kit sold separately.
The MiG-23ML is the lightened and aerodynamically refined version of the Soviet frontline fighter with variable-geometry wings. Among other things it can be told from the older versions by its revised vertical tail with a shortened dorsal extension - and it is exactly this characteristic difference that the correction set captures. In the 1970s and 1980s the MiG-23 formed the backbone of the frontline fighter force of the USSR and of a number of other states.
Wash the part in water with detergent and remove the casting block with a saw; protect your airways while sanding. Cut the original fin from the kit away as described in the instructions, sand the surfaces and fit the new part dry before you bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fill the seam and sand it down so that the transition into the fuselage stays smooth; any lost engraving can then be restored with a scriber.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit of the aircraft is not included in the package.
