The MiG-29 is a Soviet twin-engine fourth-generation fighter, recognizable by its wide fuselage blending into the wing and by its two vertical tails. The designation 9-12 is the internal factory designation of the variant. The cockpit is single-seat and the canopy hinges back, so once it is open the cockpit equipment is clearly visible.
The set is a color three-dimensional cockpit interior in 1:48 scale. The elements are printed on a decal backing paper and are laid down the wet way: the part is cut from the sheet, dipped for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slid off the paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so it holds reliably on a surface covered with a gloss varnish. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals would attack the printed resin.
Spray the surface beforehand, let it dry properly and cover it with a gloss varnish, for example Future or Tamiya X-22; the surface should be smooth and free of sanding dust. Bring the soaked element up to its place, blot the excess water and press it down with a soft stick or a cotton bud from the middle outward, so that no air is left beneath it. On a modern cockpit with large flat panels it pays to seat the instrument panel first and only then the remaining parts by reference to it. Apply the final varnish thinly and matte.
The set is for builders who want to equip a cockpit without hand-painting the instruments, and above all for models built with an open canopy, where the interior is visible. The package contains the interior set only, unless stated otherwise; the model, paints and glue are not included.
