A color 3D interior set from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale for models of the MiG-31B interceptor. The details are printed on a flexible film, come in color and are applied as a wet 3D decal: after about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water they slide off the backing paper. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss clear coat; they are neither photo-etch nor resin. This smaller (simplified) version concentrates on the main elements of the cockpit, that is, the instrument panels and the side consoles. The set is meant to bring the interior of a model in this scale to life.
The MiG-31 is a heavy supersonic interceptor meant to engage targets at long range; the crew cabin is rich in instruments and panels. A faithful, color-printed interior markedly raises the realism of a finished model with no need for laborious hand painting of instruments.
Cut the parts out, dip them in lukewarm water for fifteen seconds and transfer them one at a time onto the relevant cockpit surfaces coated with a gloss clear coat; do not use a decal softener or a setting solution at all, as they would attack the printed resin and ruin the element; the fine raised details follow the shape of the surface beneath. Work with clean hands and a sharp knife and apply pressure with a soft tool. Seat the interior before the fuselage is closed up, so that everything lines up correctly.
