The package holds two aircraft machine guns in 1:72 scale in the form with a full cooling jacket. The manufacturer offers the form with a full and with a half cooling jacket side by side; this set is the one with the full jacket. The set is a finished replacement part that takes the place of the simplified weapon from a kit: in this scale the difference shows mainly in the profile of the jacket, in the magazine and in the thin end of the barrel.
The Darne and the Lewis Mk I are two different weapons: the Darne is a French aircraft machine gun, the Lewis Mk I a British design that spread during the First World War as the observer's flexible weapon in the rear cockpit. They differ in shape as well as in mounting, so check with the manufacturer before buying which of them the set captures and on which machines you plan to use it.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, so solvent cement for plastic models will not join them; use cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder so that it does not take anything off the shape. Wash and degrease the part before painting and apply a primer. Fit the machine gun only at the end of the build, as the thin barrel is the most vulnerable part of the whole model.
Two weapons are supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
