The MiG-31, with the NATO reporting name Foxhound, is a heavy two-seat interceptor. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapon systems operator, who sit one behind the other in separate cockpits. The densely filled instrument panel and the sides of the cockpit are conspicuous on a model wherever the builder leaves the canopy open, and it is exactly these that this set is aimed at.

The instruments, the labels and the division of the panels are printed in color at the factory, so the lengthy painting of small dials and picking out light lines with a brush falls away. The extent of the parts and which sections of the cockpit they cover are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Unlike thicker parts, the thin film moreover does not fight the seating of the canopy.
The QD range is applied the wet way. Cut the element from the sheet, put it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the decal backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so cover the surface beneath it with a gloss varnish such as Future or Tamiya X-22, on which it holds best. Bring the element to its place, press it down with a soft stick and shape it carefully into the relief of the panel; on a busy spot a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who want an open cockpit at the level of the rest of the model without spending evenings painting individual dials. Check its suitability for your particular kit in the manufacturer's instructions. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
