A plastic kit model of the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-21bis supersonic fighter in 1:48 scale from the Weekend Edition range of Eduard. In the spirit of the simply equipped Weekend edition, the package contains plastic parts and Eduard decals; pre-painted photo-etched parts, masks and resin are not included. The plastic tooling itself is a quality one.
The MiG-21bis was the last and most advanced main production version of one of the most widespread jet fighters in history (NATO code name Fishbed). It was a single-seat supersonic fighter with a delta wing and a single jet engine, with a more powerful powerplant, greater fuel capacity and upgraded equipment compared with the older versions. Its speed reached around Mach 2 and the type served with dozens of air forces.
We recommend working with a thin cement for plastic and an airbrush. Because the simply equipped edition contains no masks, prepare your own masking tape for the canopy glazing. Many MiG-21bis machines carried a camouflage finish, while others appeared in natural metal; on a metal finish a good base and metallic paints in several shades to distinguish the panels pay off. Pick out the panel lines with a fine wash effect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
