The 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-35 SPACE interior set from Eduard fills out the cockpit of a model of the modern Russian machine with color three-dimensional elements. This item is no substitute for the kit of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item fills a kit out with a color interior; it is not a model itself. On modern fighters the cockpit is full of screens and frames, and it is exactly this kind of detail that three-dimensional color elements imitate far more easily than painting by hand. The difference shows most on machines where the instrument panel makes up almost the whole front face of the cockpit.
The MiG-35 is the latest development branch of the MiG-29 family, with modernized avionics, a new radar and what is called a glass cockpit, where large-area screens have replaced the classic dials. The machine was presented at the turn of the millennium as an export offering and later entered Russian colors as well, if in small numbers. It carries a wide range of guided armament and has a markedly different internal layout from the older MiG-29s.
The screens in the cockpit have a smooth gloss, so once they are seated protect them from matte varnish and spray them in spots with a gloss one. Align the side panels to the frame of the tub, not to the edge of the part. Try the fuselage dry before gluing, so that you know nothing is in the way.
A model with the canopy slid back gives away every unfinished detail, so it pays to spend time even on areas that are not visible with the cockpit closed. The seat and the rear bulkhead tend to be the first places the viewer's eye falls on.
Neither the kit itself nor paints are in the package.
