Mil Mi-8MT SPACE 1:48 is a set of three-dimensional color decals from Eduard for the interior detail of a model of this helicopter. It replaces laborious painting of small panels, but the parts are not self-adhesive.

The SPACE range from the Czech maker Eduard brings decals with a three-dimensional relief that are applied to the interior detail of a model. This item is intended for the Mil Mi-8MT helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, nor classic wet decals with markings: the parts have both the color and the raised surface from the factory, so there is no slow filling in of small elements with a brush. They are not stickers, though, as they have no adhesive layer of their own and are lifted from the backing paper only once it has been moistened.
Cut the part out of the sheet and moisten only the backing paper underneath it, preferably with a sponge dipped in water with a drop of detergent. As soon as the paper softens, lift the part with tweezers, carry it into place and fix it with white PVA glue; the manufacturer does not recommend super glue on these parts. Do not use a decal softener or setting solution, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin. The base should be smooth, clean and degreased; usually the spot is sprayed with a dark shade first, so that any gap at the edge does not show. The part is pressed down lightly, so that the relief stays legible.
Store the sheet flat and protect it from dust and damp so that the print is not damaged. Try the placement dry before lifting the part, because moving one that has already been seated may not work. If you want to unify the result with the rest of the interior, you can spray the whole space with a thin coat of matte varnish once it is dry, but always lightly and from a distance. The cabin of the Mi-8 is largely hidden under the glazing once the model is built, so it is worth concentrating on the areas that will really be visible through the finished glazing.
The set contains decals. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
