1:48 Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero seatbelts STEEL are Eduard photo-etched seat belts for the cockpit of a model of the Japanese carrier fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item contains seat belts etched from thin sheet. It is a targeted accessory for a single detail of the cockpit, but one of the most closely watched, because on a fighter the seat is practically always visible through an open canopy. A plastic or decal belt looks flat and too thick; etched sheet, by contrast, can be shaped into a soft sag. The designation STEEL is part of the naming of the manufacturer's range; a closer specification is not stated here.
The Mitsubishi A6M was a single-seat carrier-based fighter with a radial engine and a very long range. The A6M2 version was among the early production forms of the type. The cockpit was narrow, with a single seat and a framed canopy, which on models is often built slid back precisely so that the interior is visible.
The procedure is simple, but it rewards patience. Cut the parts out with a scalpel, degrease the sheet with alcohol and let it dry. Work the buckles and fittings in a bending tool, where the bend is sharp and even; give the straps, by contrast, only a slight curve, so that they look like cloth and not like a strip of metal. Use cyanoacrylate glue in an absolutely minimal amount; with parts this small a drop on the tip of a needle is enough. Fit the seat with the belts in place into the model before you close the fuselage up.
This is an accessory for a plastic model. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
