1:48 Mitsubishi A6M2b Reisen (inner and outer face) is an extended Dead Design masking set for A6M2b models in 1:48 scale. According to the name it is meant for masking the glazing from both faces.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory to a model with masks in two forms, not a kit. The suffix in the name says that the set deals with masking from outside and from inside. The exact extent of the package and the number of masks are stated on the box of the set.
When you build the cockpit open, you look at the frames from both faces. From inside they should carry the interior color, from outside the camouflage of the fuselage. Without inner masks the frame stays transparent from inside, or the outer finish shows through it, which is plain on the large glazing of fighter aircraft. The inner face of a frame is practically impossible to paint by hand: a brush cannot get inside a narrow canopy and the paint runs over the glass.
Frame decals are always one-sided and, on a curved canopy, they also buckle. Brushwork gives strokes and an uneven line. A sprayed frame from a mask has its line set by machine, the right color on each face and a surface with no extra layer at all.
Mask and spray the inner faces before you glue the canopy to the fuselage, otherwise you will no longer reach them. Lay the paint on in very thin coats, so that it does not gather in the narrow places. Once the masks are off, check against the light whether anything shows through and, if need be, go over the inside a second time.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
