This is an injection-molded plastic kit, not a finished model. The 1:48 scale is among the most popular for aircraft, because it offers enough room for detail while the model still fits into an ordinary display case. With a twin-engine bomber, however, the span is considerable, so count on the room needed in advance. The particular content of the package, the number of parts and the marking schemes are given in the instructions enclosed with the kit.
The B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine medium bomber with a high wing, twin vertical tail surfaces and a nosewheel undercarriage. The C and D versions are technically very close to each other and differed above all in the factory in which they were built. The aircraft was powered by a pair of radial engines, the crew consisted of several members and the defensive armament was made up of machine guns in several gun positions. The type proved itself thanks to its durable structure, good takeoff characteristics from short runways and the ability to carry a bomb load in an internal bomb bay. It served on a number of fronts with American and Allied units alike.
With twin-engine aircraft it pays to finish and paint the interior of the cockpit and the bomb bay first, because once the fuselage is glued together the access is already limited. Mask the glazing; there is a lot of it on this type. Check the engine nacelles and their junction with the wing dry, as gaps show up easily here. The model has large continuous areas, so it is painted best with an airbrush and in thin coats. Apply gloss clear under the decals so that no silvery edge arises, and once dry seal them with matte or satin clear. Paint running into the engraved lines emphasizes the panels, but proceed in moderation with wear on natural metal.
