A set of masks from Dead Design for the glazing of a model of the O-1 Bird Dog in 1:48 scale in the form for the inner and the outer side. The designation In and Out in the name means exactly this - the sheet contains masks for both sides of the clear part, so the greenhouse can be sprayed from the outside and from the inside.
On a fighter with a narrow cabin the inside of the frames hardly comes into play. The Bird Dog is the opposite: the cabin is glazed right down to the sides, sits high and can be seen into from every angle. When the frames are sprayed only from the outside, they stay transparent on the inside and the color of the plastic shows through the glass - a finished model thereby loses exactly what is most conspicuous about this aircraft. The form for both sides also deals with the fact that the interior of the cabin is clearly visible on an observation aircraft and has to follow on from the color of the frames.
First spray the inner side, usually in the shade of the interior, let it cure and only then mask and spray the outer side in the color of the airframe. The clear part has to be clean and degreased before every step. With the masks on the inner side it pays to give attention to their register with the outer ones - the frame should look equally wide from both sides.
