A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for the model of the American twin-engined fighter P-38G Lightning. The metal parts add detail that is necessarily coarser in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is an American twin-engined fighter with an unmistakable shape: two tail booms carry the tail surfaces and the pilot sits in a short central nacelle between them. The twin-boom layout made it possible to concentrate the armament in the nose, so the rounds do not converge on a single point as they do with wing-mounted guns. The P-38G version is one of the forms that served in the first half of the war, both over Europe and in the Pacific.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. Metal sheet is made in thicknesses a plastic part cannot reach, so it suits exactly those elements that are meant to be thin: instrument panels, covers, loops and similar small items. The manufacturer's enclosed instructions state the range of parts, where they go and which kit they are intended for.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard backing, not with nippers. Level off what is left after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed score lines in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers. Cement for polystyrene will not join metal, so use super glue or epoxy in a genuinely small amount. Degrease the sheet before painting and lay a coat of primer on it, otherwise paint will not hold on smooth metal.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
