A set of painting masks for a model of the Bell P-400 Airacobra in 1:48 scale, according to the name with American markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-400 is the export designation of the American single-seat fighter Bell P-39 Airacobra. The machine differed strikingly from the fighters of its day: the cockpit was entered through side doors and the undercarriage had a nosewheel. It is exactly the intricate canopy framing and the side glazing that make the most work in painting, and the set of masks is aimed precisely at them.
Pre-cut painting masks for a model of the P-400 in 1:48 scale. According to the name they are prepared for American markings. The exact scope, that is whether besides the glazing the national insignia, the wheels or further areas are masked, is given in the manufacturer's instructions together with a placement diagram for the individual pieces.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto a clean, dry and degreased surface. Transfer the pieces with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay them on according to the diagram and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick, so that no paint runs underneath. Spray in several thin layers and let each one flash off; a heavy layer tears when the mask comes off. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, while the layer is still flexible, and pull it slowly at an angle to the surface, not straight up.
The aircraft kit, the paints and the decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
