A wheel bay for the P-40B in 1:48 scale is a resin detail set from Aires for sharpening up the landing gear bays of the Warhawk fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed resin set that replaces the landing gear bays of the plastic kit with more faithfully rendered castings. It is NOT an aircraft model but an accessory to the base kit of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter. The castings add the structure of ribs, lines and riveting inside the bays.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American fighter of the early Second World War powered by the Allison V12 engine. The early P-40B version became known, for instance, with the Flying Tigers unit. On this type the detailed bays are among the places well in view under the wings.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Check how they sit in the wing and sand any mating surfaces with respiratory protection. The bays come out best after shading and a light touch of drybrushing.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, it calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
