The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard from the BRASSIN line holds resin replicas of the landing gear wheels for a model of the Curtiss P-40B fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an improving accessory that will replace the plastic wheels with castings with a faithful pattern of the casing and detail of the hub. The wheels tend to be cast with a realistic flattening under load.
The Curtiss P-40B was an American single-engine fighter from the beginning of the Second World War. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V engine and the machine became famous among other things in the colors of the Flying Tigers unit with the characteristic shark mouth on the nose. It was used on a number of fronts as a fighter as well as a ground-attack aircraft.
Wash the castings clean of the remains of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the casings in a matte rubber black, the hubs in a shade matching the rest of the landing gear, and fill them out with fine dust and mud.
This is a supplementary resin set, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
