The 3D-printed resin detail set Eduard 1:48 engine for the P-40N replaces the engine section of a model with a faithfully rendered V12.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a 3D-printed resin detail set, not a model of an aircraft. It contains a faithfully rendered engine for a model of the American Curtiss P-40N Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale. The resin print captures fine detail of the block, the accessories and the runs of piping which are hard to reproduce from injection-molded plastic, and it makes it possible to build the model with the engine section exposed.
The Curtiss P-40N was the most numerously built version of the Warhawk and it was powered by a liquid-cooled Allison V-1710 V12 engine. It is exactly the long nose with this V12 engine that gives the P-40 its characteristic silhouette; an exposed engine with its piping and accessories is a rewarding subject for detailed diorama work.
Wash the mold release agent residues off the parts, cut them carefully off the print supports and clean them up. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Lay down a primer before painting; bring the engine to life with a dark wash into the recesses and pick the edges out with drybrushing.
This is not a complete model. The set does not contain glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an accessory to a base model.
