An accessory set from the LööK range with an instrument panel for a model of the P-51D-5 Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-51D was an American fighter with long range that escorted bomber formations all the way to the target. The D version received a bubble canopy and a cut-down rear fuselage, so the pilot has a practically unobstructed view to the rear. The D-5 block belongs to the first production batches of this configuration. Thanks to the glazing the cockpit is clearly visible, and the instrument panel is the first thing a visitor to a display case looks for in it.
The set from the LööK range brings a finished instrument panel part in 1:48 scale that replaces the part from the kit. The rendering of the dial faces and the divisions of the panel are worked out more finely than injection-molded plastic can manage in this scale. The exact contents of the package and the kit the part is shaped for are stated by the manufacturer.
Test-fit the part dry first, as cockpits tend to be cramped and the panel has to seat without pressing on the side walls. Cut away excess material and production marks with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand off the rest. Bond it with super glue applied in a tiny amount on the tip of a toothpick, so that it does not wick onto a visible surface. Fit the clear canopy last.
The accessory set alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
