A detailed 3D-printed resin set from the Brassin PRINT range for a model of the American North American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The set replaces the wheel well (the wheel bay) in the wing with an exactly detailed 3D-printed part. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for experienced modelers who want to raise the realism of an extended landing gear.
Direct 3D printing makes it possible to capture the fine texture of the ribs, the pipework and the internal detail of the wheel well with a sharpness that molded plastic parts do not reach. The result is a faithful bay, which is clearly visible on a model with the landing gear down. The set is designed for the plastic P-51D kit from Eduard; check compatibility against the package.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, separate them carefully from the print supports and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. It is a good idea to paint the bay and to add a wash and fine weathering before the wing is closed up.
This is an accessory 3D-printed set, not a model of an aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
