A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for the P-40 aircraft, the second part of the series. It concentrates on the Warhawk and Tomahawk machines delivered to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40 fighter was one of the types the Soviet Union received under the Lend-Lease program. Both the early machines designated Tomahawk and the later versions known as Warhawk reached the Soviet Air Force. They flew in the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front, and their appearance often differed from the state in which they had left the factory.
This is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale, the second part of a series devoted to the P-40. It concentrates on the machines handed over to the Soviet Air Force, that is on the Warhawk and Tomahawk versions in their markings. The sheet is cut for P-40 kits in this scale; which kit it fits exactly is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair. With an ordinary wet decal, cut one marking out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until the film starts to move on the backing paper. The base on the model should be smooth gloss varnish, otherwise matte edges will appear around the marking. Settling it into engraved detail and onto curved surfaces is made easier by decal softener, and once dry a coat of sealing varnish follows.
The set suits modelers who want to build a P-40 in a finish other than the ones offered by the decals supplied with the kit.
The package holds a decal sheet. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
