A photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory made of thin metal sheet, intended for models of the Panther tank and the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in the Ausf.G version. It replaces the plastic fenders with a faithful sheet-metal substitute. The photo-etched fret is prepared for the Tamiya kit.
The fenders of combat vehicles were made of thin sheet and in practice were often bent, buckled or partly missing. A plastic part cannot reproduce that. Photo-etched metal has a to-scale thickness and can be shaped and even realistically damaged, which is a popular way of giving a vehicle a battle-worn look.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and do the shaping and the bends in a bender. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the sheet before painting and apply a primer; the damage and the rust will then stand out.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
