The fourth generation of the Israeli close-combat missile: 1:48 Python IV by AMMO of Mig Jimenez as stores for models of modern fighters.
Responsibility details are not available.
The successor to a proven Israeli missile, designed from the start for a fight in which the pilot aims with his gaze. The set brings a scale replica to be hung on a finished model of a fighter aircraft.
The fourth-generation Python appeared in the nineteen-nineties and moved close combat into a new position. Its key ability is launch at a target far off the axis of flight, that is, even at an opponent who is to the side or almost abeam of your own machine. For that to make sense, a pair came into being: the missile and a helmet-mounted sight, thanks to which the pilot designates the target by turning his head. Enlarged control surfaces and marked agility allow a sharp turn right after the motor fires. The weapon became an export article and several air forces took it to their own machines, including aircraft of Western and Eastern design alike.
The sizeable surfaces at the seeker head are typical of this type, so do not confuse them with the parts of the older variant. The painting tends to be simple: a light base, a colored stripe and markings. It is precisely with the contrasting stripe that it pays to mask with tape, as a straight edge is done badly with a brush. Hang the missiles under the wing or on the wingtip rail only once the coat on the airframe is finished.
The package is aimed at finishing a model already under construction; do not look for paints and glues in it.
