Armory 1:48 R-985 Wasp Junior radial engine as a resin accessory for building a model. It is not an airplane model; the basic kit is bought separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set in 1:48 scale capturing the American R-985 Wasp Junior radial aircraft engine from Armory. It is an accessory for building a model, not an airplane model and not a working engine. A radial engine is a rewarding place on a model: in kits it tends to be simplified, whereas a casting renders the cylinder finning, the pushrods and the propeller hub more finely. The set suits builds where the engine is visible once the model is finished. Check the scope of the package on the box.
The R-985 Wasp Junior was a nine-cylinder air-cooled radial engine from the American firm Pratt & Whitney, named after its displacement of 985 cubic inches, that is about sixteen liters. It was built from the 1930s in large numbers and, depending on the version, gave in the order of three hundred to four hundred fifty horsepower. It was known for its reliability and its undemanding nature, so it powered a whole range of trainers, transports and utility aircraft, from small twin-engine transport machines through amphibians to postwar aircraft for operation in remote areas. It belongs among the most widespread aircraft engines of its size.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
