American helmet M1 1:48 is a set of resin (3D-printed) American helmets for figures and dioramas. An accessory, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin helmets made by 3D printing, representing the American M1 steel helmet in 1:48 scale. This accessory from the Czech maker Firma49 serves for fitting out figures and for bringing dioramas to life. It is not a model of a vehicle but a detail accessory.
The M1 helmet was introduced into the American army in 1941 and replaced the older M1917 helmet. It consisted of an outer steel shell and an inner liner. It served throughout the Second World War and in the decades that followed and is one of the best-known helmets of the 20th century. The rounded dome with its slightly lowered rim is characteristic.
Separate the helmets from their supports; it is worth dipping the resin briefly in hot water before trimming so that it softens. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wash the parts and apply a primer before painting. A matte olive drab color suits them, and the surface can be roughened for a period texture.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package.
