This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It contains the aerials of the FuG 202 and FuG 212 airborne radars for the prototype and pre-production Heinkel He 219 machines designated V6 to V11. The aerial array projecting from the nose of a night fighter is its most conspicuous recognition feature and at the same time its most demanding detail: it consists of thin rods that an injection mold necessarily makes heavier than they really were. This accessory set removes that compromise and gives the aerials the right thickness and spacing.
The He 219 was a German twin-engine night fighter with nose landing gear and a crew seated back to back. The FuG 202 and the FuG 212 were airborne radars that differed in their working frequency and in the layout of their aerials. The prototype machines V6 to V11 served for trials of armament and equipment, so their aerial arrays differed from the later production versions.
The set is for modelers who are building a particular prototype version of the He 219 and want an aerial array matching reality. The work calls for patience and a steady hand, because this is the most fragile part of the whole model.
It is not an aircraft model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
