1:48 Republic F-105F/F-105G Thunderchief access ladders (2 pcs) adds to a model the access ladders by which the crew climbed into the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item adds ground equipment to an already built model. It is not an aircraft kit; what you get are ladders leading up to an open cockpit. The name ties them to the two-seat F-105F and F-105G versions, on which both stations were climbed into.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was a heavy supersonic fighter-bomber of American manufacture from the nineteen-fifties. The two-seat F-105F came about as a training and combat version with a lengthened fuselage, and out of it then grew the F-105G adapted for the suppression of anti-aircraft defenses. A ladder at the side of the fuselage is almost ever-present in period photographs, because the cockpit sits high above the ground and could not be reached without support.
It makes most sense with a machine standing on the ground: a ladder run up to it gives the scene its scale and offers a place for a figure of a ground crewman or a pilot. The parts only need cleaning, separating from the carrier and tuning with abrasive paper. Painting tends to be simple; usually a single shade, a light accenting of the edges with a dry brush and suggested traces of use on the boarding steps are enough.
Neither the aircraft itself nor the paints for spraying it are included in the offer.
