1:48 Republic P-47D-25RE Thunderbolt is a set of die-cut masking masks from Eduard for painting the glazing and other surfaces of the model in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking the glazing by hand with tape is a job that can be ruined at the last moment. This set from Eduard solves the problem for you: the masks are cut in advance to the shape of a particular model, so you only pop them out, lay them on and press them down. After spraying they peel off and leave crisp, straight frame edges. The set belongs to the Eduard masking range, which the firm lists in 1:48 scale alongside photo-etched and decal sets for the same aircraft.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was an American single-engine fighter, heavy and rugged, with a radial engine and a turbocharger located in the rear fuselage. The D-25-RE sub-series represented an important turning point: it was the first series-built version with a bubble canopy, which markedly improved the pilot's view to the rear. The RE suffix denotes the factory at Farmingdale.
Wash and degrease the glazing before masking, or the mask will not seat. Lay the masks on with tweezers and press them down with a toothpick all round, especially in the corners. Spray the frames first in the interior color and only then in the top shade; the transition then looks convincing. Remove the mask while the paint is freshly dry, not after long curing of the finish, when it may tear an edge away.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The model of the aircraft itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
