This Aires set in 1:48 scale is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. It combines resin and clear parts and serves for a faithful rendering of the photo-reconnaissance bay in the nose of the Phantom, where the real machines carried cameras behind windows. It replaces the simplified solution from the kit.
The McDonnell RF-4B and RF-4C were the unarmed photo-reconnaissance versions of the two-seat Phantom II jet aircraft. In place of the radar and the armament they carried a set of cameras in the lengthened nose, photographing the ground through optical windows. The B version served with the Marine Corps, the C version with the US Air Force.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and bond them with super glue; seat the clear windows with a glue suitable for transparent parts, so that they do not fog. Paint and fit out the inside of the bay before closing the nose.
This is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue and paints are not included in the package.
