A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal. In subject it covers the hundred-year history of British No. 2 Squadron, for which the English name keeps the traditional informal nickname of the unit. The sheet is meant for finishing a completed model and does not contain a kit.
No. 2 Squadron was among the oldest units of the Royal Air Force and over the long term made its name in duties connected with reconnaissance and cooperation with ground forces. The equipment it operated in the various periods matched that, as did the changes in its markings.
Sheets devoted to the history of units usually also contain small code letters, numbers and fine lettering. With these it pays to work with a magnifier or optics and with a sharpened wooden stick instead of tweezers, as a metal point easily tears a small film. Soak small decals for a shorter time than large ones, otherwise they release from the paper before you can transfer them. Measure the placement out beforehand against the engraving or against a strip of tape stuck on, because once dry a small marking practically cannot be shifted.
