Responsibility details are not available.
A scenic accessory for dioramas in 1:48 scale. It serves to build or complete the roof of a building in a scene, or to create a pile of tiling by a building under construction or damaged. The accessory is not a kit of an aircraft or a vehicle — it is a building element of a diorama, fitted onto a roof structure of your own.
A roof is the area a viewer sees first in a diorama and forgives the least. Tiling cast in scale has two fundamental advantages over an imitation made from paper or a plastic sheet: it has real thickness, so it casts its own shadow, and the irregularity between the individual rows looks natural. The Italian-type designation refers to tiling of the Mediterranean kind, of the sort seen on southern European buildings, and together with the render and the shutters it sets the character of a whole building. Form A is a separate variant; form B is also made.
Lay the tiling on a firm surface from the bottom up and with the rows overlapping, so that a shadow is created; shift the upper rows slightly, because perfect regularity makes a roof flat. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and prime them with a thin primer. Spray the base in a warm brick tone, then tune the individual rows and individual tiles lightly with lighter and darker shades, so that the roof is not uniform. A dark wash will bring out the joints and a dry brush will pick out the ridges. On the north sides and in the shaded areas add a grayish or greenish tinge of moss. Glue resin parts with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement does not hold on them.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
