An update decal sheet from the manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. Sheets of this kind add the markings that appeared newly in service or changed in the given period, so that older kits with their own decals can be brought up to the contemporary state. It is not a kit: the sheet contains only markings and instructions, and the modeler obtains the plastic model and the paints separately.
The markings of today's Royal Air Force machines are markedly more restrained than the camouflage of earlier periods. Low-visibility markings in shades of gray predominate, along with small codes and an extensive set of technical lettering. It is precisely these details that decide whether a model of a contemporary aircraft looks credible: the large areas are of one color, so the eye concentrates on the small things.
Update sheets are full of miniature decals a few tenths of a millimeter in size. A sharp scalpel with a new blade pays off, as do tweezers with smooth jaws and a magnifier or magnifying glasses. Do not try to carry a small decal directly with your fingers: lift it, with a drop of water, onto the tip of a brush or onto a dampened wooden stick and lower it into place. Blot the excess water away with the corner of a paper towel only after exact positioning, otherwise the decal will grip crookedly.
This is a standalone decal sheet, that is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
