About product

S2F Tracker Tail Wheel — 1:48 (Quickboost)

This resin detail set brings a finely cast tail wheel for a model of the American Grumman S-2 Tracker carrier anti-submarine aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a standalone airplane model but an accessory that replaces the corresponding part from the base kit and raises the accuracy of the landing gear. The casting has an accurate shape and crisp detail.

The real subject

The Grumman S-2 Tracker was an American twin-engine carrier aircraft built to find and destroy submarines. Its rugged landing gear allowed operation from the decks of aircraft carriers and from land bases alike. The machine served for decades and saw a number of modifications.

Use and tips

Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. The wheel comes into its own once painted with the rubber part and the hub lightly brought out.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the S-2 Tracker in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone after more accurate landing gear
  • More advanced builders used to working with resin

This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

No, it is a resin tail wheel that you add to your own S2F Tracker model.

The part is cast in quality modeling resin with fine detail.

We recommend super glue (cyanoacrylate); first wash the part and separate it from the casting block.
