A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler that replaces the coarse plastic screens over the engine compartment of the German Sd.Kfz.222 light armored car in 1:48 scale with fine pierced metal parts. It is an aftermarket accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The set is cut for the Tamiya or ICM kit.
The Sd.Kfz.222 was a German light reconnaissance armored car of the Second World War, armed with a 20 mm gun in an open-topped turret. The screens of the cooling and engine compartment are a visually prominent detail that comes out thick and flat in plastic.
The original plastic screens are cut away carefully and replaced with the photo-etched parts. These are separated with a sharp knife and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before clear-coating, degrease the parts and spray them with a primer; the fine perforation comes off well once a dark wash has been applied.
This is a detail accessory. The Tamiya or ICM base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
