Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British First World War fighter SE.5a with the Wolseley Viper engine, in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Eduard sets in this scale usually come with photo-etched parts and masks and offer several marking options. The model will appeal above all to enthusiasts of Great War aircraft.
The Royal Aircraft Factory SE.5a was one of the most successful British fighter aircraft of the First World War. It excelled in speed, in being a steady gun platform and in ruggedness, and together with the Sopwith Camel it formed the backbone of British fighter aviation in the closing stages of the war. The version with the license-built Wolseley Viper engine, a modified derivative of the French Hispano-Suiza, was one of the most widely used.
On a biplane, pay attention to the exact seating of the interplane struts and bracing between the wings and to the tension of the rigging wires. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts with super glue. Spray both the fabric-covered surfaces and the metal cowling with an airbrush over a primer, and add light weathering that brings out the ribbing of the fabric.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
