Hauler 1:48 Sherman M4 is a photo-etched detail set for the plastic kit of the American medium tank given in the name of the product. It will add metal parts where plastic cannot have the right thickness.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the tank but an accessory for a modeler who already owns the Tamiya plastic model. The 1:48 scale is a rewarding one for photo-etched parts: the items are large enough to be worked with without a magnifier and at the same time small enough for the thickness of plastic to show on them. The set from this range is among the more extensive ones, as you can tell from its scope compared with the partial sets of fenders or grilles.
The Sherman M4 was an American medium tank of the Second World War, produced in enormous numbers and in many production variants. It was valued for reliability, ease of maintenance and the availability of spare parts, which made it the backbone of the armored units of a number of Allied armies. The armament consisted of a 75 mm gun, and in later forms a more powerful one.
With a more extensive set, go through the whole fret first and compare it with the instructions before you cut off the first part. Set yourself an order: first the parts that replace plastic and call for its removal, then the flat covers, and last the small fittings that would break off during further handling. Cut the plastic details off with a sharp chisel and sand the area flat, as otherwise the metal part will not seat. Degrease the metal, glue with cyanoacrylate in drops and spray on a base coat before painting.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
