An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the Swedish supersonic Saab 37 Viggen in 1:48 scale from the production of the Czech firm Special Hobby. The set is complemented by photo-etched parts for the interior as well as the exterior, such as the seat belts, the instrument panels or the frame of the head-up display, and it offers several camouflage variants of the Swedish Air Force.
The Saab Sk 37 was the two-seat school version of the Viggen fighter and strike aircraft with its characteristic wing arrangement with canards. The abbreviation Sk comes from the Swedish skol (school). The rear cockpit of the instructor was raised for the sake of the view, which gave the aircraft its typical silhouette. Some of the machines were later converted into electronic warfare trainers.
Besides the plastic the set contains photo-etched parts, so have cyanoacrylate glue and a bender ready. Finish both cockpits before you close the fuselage and mask the glazing. The typical Swedish four-color field splinter pattern calls for careful masking; apply it with an airbrush and do the sharp transitions with masking tape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
