Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French twin-engine NC.701 Martinet in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Special Hobby. It is a subject you do not often come across in this scale. The number of parts, the content of the decal sheet and any resin parts, photo-etched parts or masks are stated on the kit box.
The NC.701 Martinet is the French post-war production version of the German twin-engine Siebel Si 204, which was also built in occupied France during the war. After the liberation, the factories grouped under the SNCAC abbreviation went on building machines for French needs. With two piston engines and a strikingly glazed nose section, the aircraft served as a trainer for navigators, radio operators and bombardiers, and also as a liaison and light transport machine. A number of airframes ended their careers in civilian colors.
The glazed nose and the extensive canopy glazing are the most conspicuous feature of this type, so it pays to mask the clear parts carefully and to glue them with a cement that does not fog transparent surfaces. The interior is clearly visible through the glazing, so the effort put into painting it comes back. With kits of this kind it helps to dry-fit the parts and to correct the joints by sanding rather than by pressure. Spray a gloss coat before the decals and then unify the surface according to the scheme you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
